Tomato Curry (Bachelor Food)

It is very easy to prepare and can have it with lot of dishes . It is of sour taste so children like it very much 


tomatoes - 500 gm
oil - 2 tb spoon
onion - 1no (chopped )
mustard seeds - 1/2 tb spoon
cumin seeds - 1/2 tb spoon
ginger garlic paste - 1 tb spoon
fenugreek seed powder - 1/2 tb spoon
coriander powder - 1 tb spoon
masala - 1/2 tb spoon
turmeric - a pinch
red chili powder - 1 and 1/2 spoon
salt - as per taste
coriander leaves - a bunch
curry leaves - 1/4 a cup
green chili - 2no (optional)

Method :

1) Wash tomatoes with fresh water , and cut them into small pieces so that it will cook finely .

2) Take a pan , heat oil then add mustard seeds , cumin seeds , chopped onion, green chili pieces fry them for 2 min  . Now add little salt , then fenugreek seed  and curry leaves cook it for 1 min .

3) Now add tomaotes wait until half of the cook (it takes generally 5 min) . Now add fenugreek powder , coriander powder , turmeric , red chili powder , salt . Mix it real  good and cook it for more 5 min .

4) Add masala , coriander leaves switch off the stove keep a lid on it for 2 mins then mix it .

Wow..!!! You prepared excellent curry .

Enjoy this with rice , roti , nans , even with roasted bread . You can also mix this with flattend rice or puffed rice it gives nice flavour and taste .

  2. We had this with chana dal and mackerel. My partner Janet said it was to much chili for her but enjoyed it as well as me. I wonder if you have a recipe for kheer?

    1. Mr.Frank here is a small modification for you, there is lot of difference between indian chili powder and other chili powders so please use chili powder in less quantity so that you will enjoy the recipe whole heartedly .....!!!!!
